Billy Idol Album: Billy Idol Released: July 16, 1982 Recorded: 1981–1982 Genre: Rock, new wave Billy Idol is the self-titled debut studio album by English rock singer Billy Idol . It received positive reviews from music critics and was a commercial success.  The lead single, "Hot in the City," peaked at number twenty-three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The second release, "White Wedding," reached number three on the Mainstream Rock chart in 1983.

The music was co-written by drummer Bill Berry and guitarist Peter Buck. But like all their songs, authorship is credited to the whole band. The tune peaked at number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 18 on the UK Singles Chart.

Young Americans Studio album: David Bowie Released: March 7, 1975 Recorded: August 1974 – January 1975 Genres: Blue-eyed soul, R&B, Philadelphia, soul, funk, rock In 2013, New Musical Express (NME) ranked David Bowie 's album Young Americans   number 175  in its list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The album was  number 333  in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.  Bowie's ninth studio album and the first in three years without his Ziggy Stardust personae marked a departure from glam rock. Bowie labeled the album's new sound " plastic soul, " his attempt at R & B .

The LP peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 in the United States and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipment of two million copies.

The name represented their financial condition in the early days. The band's demo cost $175 to make. Their record company was so impressed that they got Spencer Davis Group bassist Muff Winwood—the brother of Steve—to produce their debut album.
